Service & Terms
Here at The Cambridge Barbecue Company we prefer to keep things informal and not complicate your event. There are, however, a few things that it's useful to know beforehand, such as extra little services we can provide, what kind of space we need to set up, and a little information about quotes, bookings, and deposits.
We cook whatever the weather and carry our own covers for this purpose. Many people are also surprised that we provide catering all year round – it's no problem for us to cook outside and have a serving table inside. Across the autumn and winter months we sometimes run offers and promotions, so keep an eye on our news and offers page.
Equipment
We will provide serving tables and – depending on the weather – cover for the cooking and serving areas. We may be able to help with some covered areas for your guests, but that is by separate agreement and needs to be arranged beforehand.
If you need a large covered area or guests and/or furniture, we recommend M&T Marquees of Cambridge with whom we have a strong working relationship.
Again by prior request, we can provide hot drinks and hire out certain items of crockery and cutlery if you want something more than disposable items.
Quotes
The Cambridge Barbecue Company will provide you with a free no-obligation quotation for catering your event.
Upon acceptance of a quotation you will be asked to provide us with a £100 advance booking deposit. Please note that your booking is only secured upon our receipt of this deposit and that the deposit is non-refundable in the event of your cancellation.
Please also note that while we may be able to give you a “rough guide” when you first call us, we will not be able to provide you with a detailed quotation on the spot and the “rough guide” is to be considered as an indicator and is in no way binding.
Our requirements
We are largely self-contained when it comes to catering your party. We do, however, need clear access to the cooking site as we need to move some heavy equipment into place and we also need the cooking site to be located on fairly level ground.
Depending on how we are catering your party we will need access to the cooking area 2 hours before we are due to start cooking. All of this will be discussed in more detail once we have an idea of what you want.
We bring our own power supply if needed, but a supply of fresh water is appreciated.
